The Commerce Association, Club Inauguration and Freshers’ Welcome 2026–2027.
The Department of Commerce (Shift II), St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, successfully organized the Commerce Association Inauguration, Club’s Inauguration, and Freshers’ Welcome Programme on 10 July 2026 at 4.00 p.m. in Jubilee Hall. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. B. Augustine Arockiaraj, Coordinator of Commerce (Shift II), who welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, student office bearers, and students.

The Chief Guest, Mr. T. Rajaram, Vice President, TIDITISSA, inaugurated the Commerce Association and the department clubs. He delivered an inspiring keynote address on the theme “From Job Seeker to Job Creator.” In his address, he motivated the students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, enhance their leadership skills, and create employment opportunities rather than merely seeking jobs. The function was felicitated by Mr. Antony Diwakar Chandran, Vice Principal, who appreciated the initiatives of the Department of Commerce and encouraged the students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and entrepreneurial activities.

Dr. G. John, Head of the Department of Commerce, introduced the newly elected student office bearers for the academic year 2026–2027 and congratulated them on their responsibilities. He encouraged them to work with dedication and uphold the values and traditions of the department.

The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. J. Berhmans, President of the Commerce Association, and Dr. A. Maria Selvi, Vice President of the Commerce Association, with the active support and cooperation of the faculty members and student volunteers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, the Chief Guest, the Vice Principal, the Head of the Department, faculty members, student office bearers, and all the students for making the programme a grand success. The function witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 500 students, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion for the freshers.
