Two MoUs Signed by the PG & Research Department of Economics, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli

The PG & Research Department of Economics, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, entered into two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with SHASAA Groups and SidduSree Bridals & Crafts (PURPLE Foundation), Tiruchirappalli on September 22, 2026. The MoUs aim to strengthen skill development, employability, entrepreneurship, experiential learning and industry-academia engagement, providing students with opportunities for practical and career-oriented learning.
The Department of Economics was represented by Dr. Sr. Rajakumari P., Principal, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, who signed both MoUs on behalf of the Department. The signing ceremonies were held in the presence of Dr. P. Maria Sophiya, Assistant Professor and Head, PG & Research Department of Economics, along with the staff members of the Department.
The first MoU was signed with SHASAA Groups, represented by its CEO, Mr. Sabarianand Athikrishnan. The collaboration focuses on academic and soft-skills training, internships, practical exposure and career readiness. It also provides opportunities for joint workshops, seminars, training programmes and research relating to soft skills, economic performance and career success.
The second MoU was signed with Mrs. Geetha Saravanan, Founder of SidduSree Bridals & Crafts, Founder and Managing Trustee of PURPLE Foundation, and TN.EDII Trainer. The MoU provides scope for practical training and internships in beauty, bridal services, arts and crafts, entrepreneurship and livelihood activities. Joint workshops, seminars, training programmes and research initiatives will also be undertaken in areas connecting entrepreneurship, livelihood generation and the economic aspects of the beauty and craft industries.
Through these collaborations, students will gain opportunities to interact with industry and practitioners, acquire practical skills and enhance their entrepreneurial and career competencies. Both MoUs will remain in force for three years, subject to renewal by mutual agreement.
