Inter-Collegiate Competitions in connection with 130th Birthday of the Founder!
Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College organised a series of vibrant Inter-Collegiate Competitions on 23.09.2026 as part of the celebrations commemorating the 130th birthday of the Founder, Padmabhushan Sri N. Ramaswami Ayyar. Four memorial competitions are conducted every year. The competitions brought together women students from various colleges and provided a common platform to showcase their literary, intellectual, artistic, cultural and creative talents.
As part of the Founder’s Birthday celebrations, the Founder’s Birthday Inter-Collegiate Competitions featured Bhagavad Gita Recitation, Debate in Tamil, Debate in English and Quiz. The competitions encouraged students to demonstrate their knowledge, communication skills, intellectual ability and confidence. The Bhagavad Gita recitation focused on verses from Chapter XII, while the Tamil and English debates provided opportunities for participants to present their views on contemporary and thought-provoking themes. The Quiz further tested the students’ general awareness, knowledge and presence of mind.
The Smt. Alamelu Seethalakshmi Ammal Memorial Inter-Collegiate Competitions highlighted the richness of Indian performing and visual arts through Classical Vocal (Solo), Classical Dance (Solo), Theme Drawing and Art out of Waste. The participants demonstrated their artistic abilities through music and dance and displayed imagination and creativity through theme-based drawing and innovative art using waste materials.
The Sri. Madhu Ramaswami Memorial Inter-Collegiate Competitions celebrated literary, musical and artistic talents through Poem Writing in Tamil, Folk Song (Solo), Rangoli (Solo) and Essay Writing in English. The participants displayed originality in literary expression, musical presentation and visual creativity. The events created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and healthy interaction among students representing different institutions.
The Smt. P. Vasantha Memorial Inter-Collegiate Competitions featured Adzap, Mime, Yoga-Asana and Mono-acting. These events witnessed lively participation and brought out the students’ creativity, spontaneity, expressive ability and stage presence. Adzap and Mime highlighted imagination and teamwork, Yoga-Asana reflected concentration, discipline and physical grace, while Mono-acting offered participants an opportunity to exhibit their dramatic and presentation skills.
The four memorial competitions together transformed the celebrations into a colourful and meaningful gathering of talent and creativity. The events provided students with valuable opportunities to compete, interact, express themselves and appreciate diverse forms of art and knowledge. The celebrations served as a fitting tribute to the Founder, whose vision and legacy continued to inspire the institution’s efforts towards the holistic development of students.
The competition witnessed the participation of around 150 students representing 12 colleges from Tiruchirappalli and the surrounding region.
