The Alumni/ae Association of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, inaugurated the first session of its flagship initiative, the St. Joseph’s Alumni Competency Series (JACS), on September 13, 2025. Designed to provide students with exposure to industry practices, emerging trends, and cross-disciplinary knowledge, the series is supported by distinguished alumni from across the globe.

The programme began with a silent prayer, followed by words of welcome from Dr. A. Vimal Jerald, Executive Committee Member of the Alumni/ae Association, who underscored the importance of alumni-student engagement. Dr. S. He also demonstrated the use of modern tools such as Microsoft Purview for enhancing efficiency and security in enterprise data management.

This inaugural session was organized for students of Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, B.Voc (Software Development & System Administration), and Artificial Intelligence. An interactive Q&A session followed, enabling students to gain clarity on practical applications and explore career opportunities in data-centric domains.

Key outcomes of the programme included enhanced awareness of data governance, motivation to pursue careers in data-focused fields, and strengthened alumni-student bonds that reinforce the Josephite community spirit.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the Alumni Association, which expressed its appreciation to Rev. Fr. Rector, Rev. Fr. Secretary, and Rev. Fr. Principal & Director for their encouragement; Mr. Velankanniraj Mahimairaj for his valuable contribution; Heads of Departments and Coordinators for their support; and students for their enthusiastic participation.
