The Department of Commerce (Shift–II) of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, successfully organized a career guidance programme titled “Employment Opportunities for Commerce Students in the Healthcare Sector” on December 16, 2025, at 4.30 p.m. in the Jubilee Hall.
The programme commenced with a prayer song, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. R. Richard Thainess, Vice Secretary of the Department of Commerce (Shift–II).
Mr. T. Antony Diwakar Chandran, Vice Principal (Shift–II), felicitated the gathering and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary career opportunities for commerce students. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. M. Mahendran, Director and Placement Officer, who highlighted the growing demand for commerce professionals in the healthcare industry.
The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Subburethina Bharathi, Deputy General Manager, Learning and Development,

Kauvery Hospital, Tiruchirappalli, shared valuable insights into career prospects in the healthcare sector. He elaborated on emerging roles for commerce graduates in hospital administration, finance, human resources, and healthcare management, and offered practical guidance for students aspiring to build careers in this rapidly expanding field.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Shree Hari  student of I B.Com (C).
The event was generously organised and  supported by the Wellness Club of the Department of Commerce (Shift–II) under the guidance of Dr.B.Augustine Arockiaraj, Dr. B. Nalini, wellness Club In-Charge and Ms.C.Soundarya  Department placement In-charge.The programme was well-received by the students and proved to be informative and motivating.
